MEREDITH OMSTEAD

Hello! I'm Meredith. I was born and raised in Toronto, but I like to think of myself as a bit of a world explorer and adventurer (as you can see from the photos that I took above). My love for travelling and learning about people inspired me to become a multi-media storyteller.

I finished my post-graduate certificate in Contemporary Journalism at Centennial College in the summer of 2020. This degree, along with my undergrad in Global Studies has allowed me to find my mission in life, which is to take complicated social and human rights issues and make them understandable for people through visual and data storytelling.

I'm currently doing an internship as an Editorial Assitant at the Digital Data Desk at The Canadian Press. My team is using data and code to automate news stories. Although data analysis and storytelling is my favourite branch of journalism, I also have experience with and enjoy writing, video production, photography and podcasting.
